PEOPLE:
Request number 1: In order for this idea to work get this song primed on your chosen music playing app but don’t press play just yet:
That’s “Palaces of Montezuma” by Grinderman.
Second and last request: In a moment after you read this short informational paragraph, close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing for about ten-ish seconds. Doesn’t have to be exactly ten seconds, just long enough to prime you for the scene to come. Read slowly, deliberately. Try to picture in your mind’s eye the scene as you read it. Let it unfold and expand in your brainosphere.
You’ll see and be prompted after the second paragraph when to press play on the song.
Imagine how this would look as the ending scene of a film or episode.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers, thanks for reading.
Now.. close your eyes for those ten-ish seconds, then begin reading below.

TITLE CREDITS.
FADE IN:
INT. CRIME SCENE - NIGHT
OPEN ON outside the driver’s side window of a cop car facing into the vehicle. The flashing lights of police cars are echoing off of rear view mirrors and refracting from windshields from passenger vehicles. A full view of the driver’s seat, currently empty, and the driver’s side of the windshield.
The Driver walks up to the vehicle. Wearing dark jeans and a black jacket. His clothes are ragged with rips and holes and tears. Wounds on his visible skin from fights. He stops just outside of the window, gun in his left hand. He looks around for a moment, not in a way that is suspicious but careful and nonchalant. He reaches out for the car handle with the right hand, then changes to the left hand, the same hand as the gun. In that awkward angle he pulls the car door open with his first two fingers, and as the door cracks open he shoots his right hand onto the door frame and pushes the door open. He slides into the driver’s seat. Again with the two forefingers from the gun hand, pulls the door closed.
( **PRESS PLAY** ) The song “Palaces of Montezuma” from Ginderman plays as the door closes, all other sound muted).
VIEW FROM THE WINDSHIELD INTO THE VEHICLE the Driver sits in the car for a long moment, breathing, looking far, further than anyone could hope to see anything on a night like that. His chest expanding and contracting, forced breath and long exhales. He lets a smile crack slowly on his face. He turns on the ignition (still with the left hand). He looks around again, calm. Puts the car into drive. As he rolls away he lowers the window and tosses the gun from the vehicle. He looks around as he drives off, calculated and not nervous.
CRIME SCENE, DETECTIVE is writing in a small notepad looks at the driver from the crime scene. He recognizes Driver and slowly lowers the notebook. As Driver drives away their eyes meet. Driver’s head slowly turns focused on the Detective as the Detective’s head slowly turns opposite the Driver’s. The Detective slides the notepad in his front coat pocket, turns and walks away.
VIEW FROM THE WINDSHIELD INTO THE VEHICLE The Driver continues his departure, not looking back. He turns up the volume on the radio. Emergency lights fade away, now only city lights and headlights from oncoming passing vehicles.
BLACK.
THE END
Hmmm….. so many questions. Why was he using only his left? Was he injured? The cop recognized him from where? Great screenplay start! Cant wait to see where this goes.
