We've all heard our favorite rock stars say something like this: “of yeah, that iconic sound, that was my son's toys stuffed in a plastic bottle, slowed down”. It always blows my mind. And yet when I'm in the middle of trying to create something from nothing I get wrapped around the axel of trying to just… be… perfect… if I had… this.. thing…
I was reading an article about Madvillany (MF Doom and Madlib) and these dudes made one of the most mind-blowing albums of all time with the most simple equipment. If they split hairs about everything, we wouldn't have ever heard that album. History is flooded with this type of shit, that people think they need a degree in Jedi to do anything. You don't. You just need to fuckin’ do it.
Done is better than thought about. Words on the page are better than words stuck in your head. Blistered finger tips are better than soft ones. Blood on the mat. Smoke in the sky. Electricity in the wires. Octane in the circulatory system.
Shed ideology and just do. Go. Get it out of yer head and into our world. Let everyone know about it.
